History and Etymology
The Black death is common thought to be a zoonotic (transmitted by animals) disease known as bubonic plague. The disease is characterized by swollen lymph nodes and painful, large blackish boils on the skin. After 12 hours of infection coughing and vomiting of blood and bleeding out of the ears will occur along with nausea, muscle cramps and seizures. If not treated the mortality rate is over 66 percent.
